EE222S

This course is an abbreviated version of EE222 to be offered in the summer only. This course cannot be counted towards depth or breadth, but can be counted as other EE units. The course will use the book by David A. B. Miller, Quantum Mechanics for Scientists and Engineers, Cambridge University Press, 2008. The following tentative course plan refers to the sections in this book. All dates are for 2009.

EE222 topics not to be covered

Chapter 6: Approximation methods in quantum mechanics

Chapter 7: Time-dependent perturbation theory.

Slightly different than the way in which the class is regularly taught, the course instructor will try to relate the material covered to the experimental work that is taking place at Stanford, and possibly arrange for some optional guest lectures by the practitioners in the field.
