A. C. Fraser-Smith: Publications

Before formally listing my publications I thought it would be fun to list a few that I particularly enjoyed writing becaue they were a bit different. They are all in Adobe portable document format (pdf).

  • First is a paper showing the sensitivity of our ELF measurements - look at the Schumann Resonances. It has the first description in the Western literature of the very strong Russian 82 Hz transmitter located on the Kola peninsula.
  • Second is an earlier paper describing the use of a tree as a ULF antenna. Question: If trees can pick up ULF electromagnetic signals originating in space, can we do so too??
  • Third, earthquake forecasting is a controversial topic. Here is paper describing some ULF magnetic field measurements made by my group prior to the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake here in California:
  • Fourth, as a result of the several years of measurements my group made in reponse to the results described in the previous paper, I became convinced that there were low-frequency electromagnetic signals emerging out of the Earth. The following final report describes some of the extraordinarily-sensitive measurements leading to this conclusion and their possible significance for the Earth sciences.
  • Finally, the following article I wrote for the American Geophysical Union's Eos : Space Science Strategy 1990-2026 A.D., by A. C. Fraser-Smith, Eos, 1989, deals with the remarkable prediction of world population growth made in 1960 by von Foerster et al.: Doomsday: Friday, 13 November, A.D. 2026, by Heinz von Foerster, Patricia M. Mors, and Lawrence W. Amiot, Science, 1960.
