(1993). Experiments are described in biased AlGaAs/GaAs quantum well reflection
modulators demonstrating that the degradation in continuous wave modulator performance due
to absorption saturation at wavelengths lambda > lambda /sub 0/, is significantly
reduced compared to that at lambda /sub 0/, the zero field exciton wavelength, which in
this case is 850 nm. This is of importance in the selection of operating wavelengths for
the self-electro-optic effect device (SEED) used in photonic switching or optical
interconnect applications
