A ferry trip on the Bospourous.
The following images are from a ferry trip up the Bosporous with Ender
Ayanoglu and his friend Sirin.
Pictures include the Yeni Cami mosque, the Dolmabaci Palace, the Ciragan
Palace (now a hotel), the Bosporous Bridge, the Rumeli Hisan fortress built
by Mehmet II (the Conquerer) as he was closing in on Constantinople
At the end we climbed a hill at
Anadolu Kavagi to explore a "Genoese Fort," a fort build by the Byzantines and occupied
by the Genoese. It overlooks the Northern mouth of the Bosporous and the Black Sea.
We finished the stop with a fresh bluefish at a restaurant on the water, where we could
watch the enormous ships sail by.
